He grumbles. “Then he must have smelled it. Was probably after it more than you, which I question his judgment. You’re obviously the finer dish.”
I giggle, as our eyes meet again. “Suggesting he should eat people instead of beef? Are you some sort of cannibal mountain man?”
He shakes his head, looking me up and down. There’s a smile on his face as his head falls back slightly. “Oh, no, as much as I want to eat you, it’s in metaphorical ways instead of literal.”
“What do you mean by that?” I say, my smile twisting.
“You’re the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.”
I look at him in complete and utter surprise, those words being something I had never heard before.
At least not said directly to me.
All I can do is stare right back at him, wide-eyed and very surprised.
He bursts into laughter. “Maybe that’s coming on a bit too strong. Let’s start with our names. Hi, I’m Hood, and may I ask what your name is, sweetheart?”
Disarmed, I laugh too. “My name is Red,” I say.
“Red? Suits you.”
I blush. The story I’ve been told by my parents is they waited a few days to name me, and I had the most vibrant red hair, even as a baby. It always made me feel a bit bashful, with how on the nose my name is. “While I’m not complaining one bit, what are you doing out here, Mr. Hood?”
He shakes his head. “Just Hood, please. And I was over at my own cabin which isn’t far from here. Over near a nice little brook, downstream from a hot spring.”
“Oh, a hot spring?”
“Yes, but far enough away that it’s freezing cold now, but at least it’s still liquid. I’d worked up a bit of a sweat and was rearing up for a nice freezing skinny dip into the water.”
“Skinny dipping? Isn’t that a bit of a bad idea for the weather?”
“Not if you know what you’re doing. Why don’t you join me and see, Red?”
“I kind of don’t want to get hypothermia, thank you very much.”
“Don’t worry about that,” He says, offering his hand as he approaches me. “I’ll warm you right up afterwards.”
A screaming mountain man up and approaches me right after I get my life threatened by a wolf of all things.
My life couldn’t get any weirder, so I went along with it. I took his hand.
“Alright, Hood, you got my curiosity. Let’s go.”

HOOD
Usually with girls I’m more conservative.. Ask them out on a date, maybe head to a movie, a dinner, before seeing that we got nothing in common and calling the whole thing off.
Asking them to go skinny dipping in a frozen river is a bit rash for one of my first dates, but part of me doesn’t care. This girl is fucking gorgeous and I want her bad. I can’t help myself. I have to let my heart flow and ask her for exactly what I want.
She follows me through the forest back to my cabin. With how cold it is, she’s probably not too worried about her food spoiling, given we’re currently hanging around in nature’s freezer.
“Here we are, sweetheart,” I say as we reach the river, my jacket still resting on the dock.
“Uh, now what?” She asks, apparently forgetting I said the words skinny dipping to her minutes before.
So I’d show her. I finished what I started. Off goes my shirt, and immediately her eyes are glued on me. Up and down my chest, she’s ogling me and enjoying everything she’s seeing, looking at me like I’m some smorgasbord of manflesh.
The belt goes, and my jeans follow, kicking off my shoes and peeling off my socks, leaving my bare feet on the snow, which is so cold it burns. Red’s eyes are looking up and down my form and it’s pretty clear she likes what she sees.
So I may as well see what she thinks of the rest of me.
My boxer briefs go down my legs, and I step out of the little pile of my clothes. Sure, it’s a bit cold, but I’m more than confident in myself to make up for it, and the way she’s looking at me makes it pretty fucking clear that she’s very appreciative of what I’m coming equipped with, chill or not.
“You're enjoying the show, aren’t you?”
“Maybe just a bit,” she says, her face quite red, but the way she can’t take her eyes off me is the most telling thing in the world.
“Why don’t you get ready to jump in along with me?”
She stares at me, blinking. “You can’t be serious.”
“Hey, I’m not an exhibitionist. I brought you along because you seemed interested, and I don’t think you want to jump in with me wearing all of that.”
She’s naturally hesitant, her eyes shifting away from me for the first time, before turning herself around and undoing the buttons on her coat. It falls into another pile on the dock, with her shoes, and with each piece of clothing she takes off, I can hear her teeth chatter more and more.
