When Camden announces the last song, they boo, and when it ends, they beg for more. Of course, Camden messes with them, asking if they deserve an extra song. They scream the place down, so with a panty-melting wink, he gives in, and the guys give them one last song before saying good night and walking off the stage.

Since they’re done, I make my way to the back, handing over my equipment to the sound manager and crew. Then I head to the guys’ private room for tonight. A few minutes later, I’m checking my phone when the door swings open, and the guys, along with their security and tour manager, enter.

Gage immediately lights up a joint, Braxton rips his shirt off, and Declan pulls his phone out. Camden’s eyes find me, and his entire face lights up. He stalks across the room and pulls me into his arms, not giving a shit that he’s covered in sweat or that we’re not alone. My legs wrap around his waist at the same time as his mouth crashes against my own. The kiss is filled with heat and intensity. My back hits the wall, and his fingers squeeze my ass. As the kiss deepens, my fingers tug the strands of his hair, and I grind my center against him, needing more.

“Get a fucking room,” Declan yells through a laugh.

“Or you can all get the hell out of this one,” Camden fires back.

His beautiful green eyes, filled with a mixture of mirth and lust, stare into my own. “I loved having you here, standing only a few feet away, knowing I could kiss you, touch you, be inside you afterward.” His confession that his words were about me has me wanting to get him alone and make good on every one of his wants.

“Do you have anything you have to do now?”

“Only you.” He smirks.

We leave the crew to handle everything and are on our way back to Camden’s house when my phone rings: David.

Since Felix is with him and it’s late in New York, I immediately answer it.

“Hello.”

“I need you to come over.”

Before I can ask why, I hear the sound of my little boy crying in the background. “What happened?” I ask, my heart bottoming out in my stomach. I know that cry. He’s hurt. Something is wrong.

“I don’t know,” David says, his tone dripping with impatience and frustration. “He was asleep and then woke up crying. He won’t stop! I need you to come over here.”

“I can’t,” I tell him, closing my eyes in pain. Felix’s crying doesn’t stop, and the sound has me wanting to reach through the phone and comfort him, but of course, I’m hours away. “I’m… not in New York. You need to ask him what hurts. If it’s his stomach or—”

“Where the fuck are you?” David barks.

“It doesn’t matter. Just focus on Felix. Ask him what hurts.”

“He won’t stop crying!”

“Because he’s in pain. Is he holding his belly or maybe pulling on his ear?”

“His ear. He’s pulling on his ear. Now, where are you?”

“David!” I snap. “Forget about me. I’m not there, and I can’t be there right now. You need to give him Tylenol for kids.”

“I don’t have any.”

Of course he doesn’t. And I didn’t think to pack any. Dammit. “You’ll have to go buy some.”

“I can’t believe you’re not here. What did you do? Go away? Our fucking son needs you, and you’re not even here.”

I know his accusation is super hypocritical since he’s never been there for Felix a day in his damn life, but it still hurts knowing I’m not there.

“Look,” I say with a sigh, not wanting to fight. “I’m going to get there as soon as I can.” My eyes meet Camden’s, who nods in understanding. “But it won’t be for a few hours. I need you to get him Tylenol to help with the pain. If you can’t do that, you need to take him to the ER, so they can. Ear infections hurt really bad. Hence, his crying. He’s in a lot of pain.”

“Fine.”

“Also, make—” Before I can finish my sentence, I realize the crying has stopped in the background because David’s hung up on me. I call him back, but he sends me to voicemail. I try again—same thing.

“I can’t believe this.” I drop my head into my hands, and Camden tucks me into his side.

“We’re heading to the airport,” he says.

My head pops up. “Right now?”

“I’ve already told Jill to schedule a pilot. The jet’s been on standby, ready to go tomorrow.”

“What about the guys and our stuff?”

“They’ll grab it for us, and the jet will come back for them.”

“That’s such a waste, though,” I say, feeling guilty.

“The only important thing right now is getting to your son. I have the means to do it, so it’s being done.” He kisses my temple, and I sink deeper into his side.
