“That boy of ours is trouble,” I mutter right before my lips slide against hers, tongue pressing against them until she gets the memo, allowing me to gain entrance, getting lost in the moment with my wife. Kellie and I aren’t worrying about what the kids are getting into, the dinner that needs to be cooked, or the toilet that will probably have me cussing to no end while working on it well into the night.

“Oh gross, you could have warned me Sadie!” Nolan comes in, interrupting me finally getting a moment with my wife since I’ve been home.

“What, they’re just kissing. It’s sweet, really,” Sadie walks out of the kitchen, going towards the patio doors to sit outside. That’s our girl, she’s a dreamer, lover of nature, and pure Sadie.

“It’s still gross. When’s dinner going to be done?” Nolan asks, typical boy thinking about nothing but their stomach and what to put inside it.

“Soon, you can have something too if you bring Ian one as well,” Kellie barters, smart thinking because she knows he’ll be in here next after seeing the older two come out with food.

“Sure, but no kissy face until I leave,” like that’s ever stopped us before, though Kellie does leave my arms, going back to the oven, pulling it open, letting the aroma of what I know is Skillet Chicken Tinga Enchiladas she found from an influencer online. It’s a crowd pleaser, quick to make, and no one complains about not liking this or that, a win for Kellie and me.

“No promises, kiddo,” I move Kellie out of the way, she’s had to double up this recipe lately and with it being in a cast iron skillet, the weight only adds to it.

“Yeah, yeah,” Nolan walks out, I grab the oven mitts off the counter, grab the pan, and slide it on to the stove for Kellie to work the rest of her magic.

“I guess I better go check on the wild child,” Kellie’s standing off to the side, hands crossed over her breasts, a wistful look on her face.

“How would you feel about one more?” I stop in my tracks, we never really decided when we’d quit, and sure Ian gives us a run for our money. The thought of having another one running around the house, it wouldn’t upset me.

“You pregnant?” I don’t give her the answer to the question she just asked.

“I’m a few days late, I haven’t taken a test yet. It got me thinking that one more might not be a bad thing though. We make it work and sure there are days I’m lying to our kids that I’m peeing, when really I’m eating a candy bar in the bathroom to gain just a few minutes of peace, it’s still a lot of fun.”

“Fuck yeah it is,” my movements are fast, backing Kellie against the counter, picking her up, moving my body closer to hers, hands gripping her waist, pulling Kellie towards me, and kissing her like the world isn’t moving around us, both of us lost in one another.

NEEDING HIM

“You don’t love someone for their looks, or their clothes, or for their fancy car, but because they sing a song only you can hear.” —Oscar Wilde

ONE

DRAKE

The first thing I notice when I wake up from this nightmare of a shoulder surgery that I begrudgingly put off is the pretty nurse in the corner. The side of her body shows off her figure even in what would normally be considered shapeless scrubs, but on her it gives me the prettiest glimpse of her body, naturally tan skin, killer luscious lips that are pursed, and her soft waves that are cascading down her back even in the high ponytail she has it up in.

“Did I die and go to nurse heaven?” My voice cracks when I talk. Fucking tube they no doubt shoved down my throat to fix my bum shoulder. If I weren’t lying on this uncomfortable and unforgiving hospital bed, I’d have lost my footing, no doubt, when she turns around showing me her beauty.

She laughs. It’s a sound that soothes your soul, husky in its tone, and has me thinking things I shouldn’t.

“Hello, Mr. Martinez, I’m Giana. I’ll be your nurse for today. How are you feeling?” she asks. Vibrant green eyes framed by long mink eyelashes assault my vision. Damn, those lips do not disappoint either. Her side profile doesn’t hold a candle to the front.

“I’m good. I’d be better if you were coming home with me to nurse me back to life.” My head falls back on its own accord, more than likely from the anesthesia and drugs pumping through my veins. This is going to suck donkey dick.

“Leave her alone. Nobody wants to deal with your surly ass.” I open my eyes. Slade, Bridger, Travis, and even Easton’s eyes meet mine.
