I bent down to eye level with Judge Blakley and grinned before Bohannon delivered the kill. “See you in hell, motherfucker.” Then he died.

The second I saw Chase I knew it was over. He hurried to my side and pulled me into his arms. “Gonna need that fuckin’ you promised, woman.”
I giggled. “Always. Whatever you need, Chase. I’m yours.”
The night was spent in bliss. Chase took me several times and I took him a few more. By the time the sun rose, we were both sated and had fucked the previous night out of our systems.
“None of this will lead back to the club, will it?” I didn’t want anyone getting the idea it was my fault and that Bones was harboring a fugitive.
“No, baby. When we take care of something like this, it’s permanent. Nothing’ll ever be found, and there will be no trace the man was ever here. He kind of took care of that himself when he finally took the step of trying to kill you himself.” The second the words left Chase’s mouth, a shudder went through his body. Like even the thought of something happening to me was more than he could think about.
“Good. Because he’s not worth it.”
“No, baby. He’s not.”
We lay in each other’s arms for a long time. I dozed off but didn’t quite go under. That’s when I felt something slide onto my finger. I stretched and looked up at Chase. He stared at me, his expression blank. Then I looked down at my left hand. A beautiful gold diamond ring rested on my finger. It was a perfect fit. Nothing fancy. Just a single solitaire… and another gold band.
I smiled. “Is this your way of asking me to marry you, Chase?”
“Nope. I’d never risk rejection by asking. Besides, better to ask forgiveness than permission. I might have gotten Data to file a marriage certificate for us. It’s kind of already a done deal.”
I laughed. I couldn’t help it. “Why does this not surprise me?”
“Because you’re a smart woman. Also got your property patch on a vest I’ll give to you later. Now. Tell me you love me.”
“I do, Chase. I really do.”
I kissed my husband. And yeah. Husband. I liked the sound of that.
