Seems I’m not the only one falling for her.
Chapter Six
~Hannah~
SOMEONE IS RINGING MY fucking doorbell. I was at the hospital until the wee hours, I was finally in a deep, lovely sleep, and someone is ringing the bell.
All I know for sure is, this had better not be the damn door-to-door people trying to sell me a vacuum. Or a magazine. Or Jesus.
I wrap my robe around me, stumbling toward the door. I pull it open and am surprised to find an excited Sadie and a ridiculously sexy Brad standing at my door.
“Is that coffee?” I ask.
“For you,” he confirms and holds it out to me.
“Come to mama,” I mutter and take it from his hand, taking a grateful sip. Sadie brushes past my leg, into the house, and curls up on my couch.
“She’s not supposed to be on the furniture,” Brad says.
“My house, my rules,” I reply and take another sip of the one thing in this world I’m addicted to, and give him a once over from head to toe. “You look like you got about as much sleep as I did.”
“Rough night?” he asks without confirming or denying.
“Babies,” I reply with a shrug. “You?”
He just shrugs. “Are you going to ask me in?”
“Sure.” I back up and gesture him into the room. “Sorry, I was sleeping pretty good. My energy level is about equal to a sloth on Xanax.”
“I can leave and let you go back to bed.”
His eyes roam up and down my body, reminding me that I’m just in a robe and nothing else. His green eyes are hot, and every muscle in his body is tight.
Even sleep deprived, I can tell when a man is in the mood.
“You’ve brought me coffee. I’ll never kick you out when you’ve done that.”
“I’ll remember that,” he says with a chuckle.
“Besides, I have plenty of room.” I turn and walk into my bedroom, glancing behind me to see that he’s following me. He makes a hand gesture at Sadie, which I assume means stay. “We can take a nap,” I suggest.
His lips twitch, but he doesn’t say anything when he joins me next to the bed. He takes my coffee and sets both of our cups on the bedside table.
“Is that what you want, Hannah?” he murmurs and skims his fingertips down my arms.
“Eventually.”
He hitches his finger in the belt of my robe. “What do you have on under here?”
I’m staring at his mouth. His lips are just… wow. I want them on me. All over me. Every fucking inch.
“Maybe you should just take it off and find out,” I whisper, unsure of where my voice went.
He takes a long, deep breath, his finger is moving back and forth under the belt. He leans in and kisses my forehead and pulls the belt loose, letting the robe gape open down the middle.
I expect him to step back to watch it fall away, but he doesn’t. He slides his large, warm hand under it, gliding against my skin at my waist, then back to cup my bare ass.
He takes a sharp breath and whispers, “You’re naked.”
“Yeah.”
“Are you always naked when you sleep?”
“Unless I just fall down in my clothes, yes.”
“I didn’t bring condoms,” he says, disappointment hanging heavy in his voice.
“I do this stuff for a living,” I remind him with a grin. “I’ve got pregnancy covered, and I’m as clean as a person gets.”
His lips twitch. “Me, too.” He kisses my forehead again, then my cheek, and he’s pushing my robe off my shoulders to pool around my feet. He lays his lips over mine, not moving them, just resting as his hands move from my shoulders to my breasts. Rather than grope, his fingers lightly skim my nipples, making them pucker in readiness, wanting his lips.
But his lips are still on mine, and now they begin to move. Slowly, lazily, fitting the mood perfectly, his soft lips brush over mine, back and forth. He nibbles the corner, making my skin break out in goosebumps.
He guides me onto the bed, but before he can settle in, I pull at the hem of his T-shirt, tucked into his jeans.
“You’re way over dressed.”
He smiles against my mouth, and then he’s gone to quickly discard his clothes. He went from lazy and slow to The Flash in 2.1 seconds, and now he’s standing next to me, all six-foot-five-ish of him, tanned and muscular and hard.
Hard everywhere.
“You can come back here now.”
He smiles and covers my body with his, but rather than kiss me all over, he braces himself on his elbows on either side of my head and holds my gaze in his.
“Hannah.”
“Yeah.”
“You’re sexier than I ever imagined, and I can’t wait to sink inside you.”
I can only smile at him.
“But if you think you’re running this show, you’re sorely mistaken, sweetheart.”
