“To ‘just be.’”
She finished the last swallow of her drink and smiled at him because he seemed to “get” her more than any other man she’d ever been with. She appreciated that. “Yes, to just be. I never could’ve imagined stepping into this new world, but, honestly, Agnes getting damaged might’ve been the best thing to happen on this trip so far.”
“Your sled gettin’ fucked up was good?”
“Sounds crazy, right? But look what I’m discovering.” She stood up and turned toward the center of The Barn and swept her hand out in front of her. “A way of life so different from my former one. New people, new friends, new world,” she reached up and cupped his cheek, “even a new lover.”
“Glad you kept that last one singular.” He leaned in and put his mouth to her ear. “All right, so you wanna see my room, huh? That all you wanna see?”
She shivered, reached down, interlaced their fingers and tugged on his hand. “I’m game for an in-depth tour.”
“Then I’m gonna give you one.”
“Are your sheets clean?”
He snorted. “Don’t gotta use the bed.”
She laughed as he tugged her across The Barn’s floor to the closed door that led to the bunkhouse.
Were heads turning as they went?
Damn right they were and neither of them cared one little bit.
Chapter Fifteen
Whip stared up into Fallon’s hooded eyes as she rose and fell on his hard as fuck dick. Her blonde chin-length hair, still messy from sleeping, swept back and forth along her jawline. Her throat was arched a bit, her mouth slightly parted. The little noises she made was music to his fucking ears.
He brushed one thumb across a tightly budded nipple. The other pressed and circled her clit.
She moved up and down lazily, taking her time, not rushing their morning fuck, even though he needed to get up and get ready for work. This had become their routine every morning he woke up in her bed. It happened every night before they fell asleep. And sometimes even in between.
This woman loved sex and lots of it. Luckily, it was something they had in common.
While she slept, he’d wrap himself around her and hold her close, listening to her soft, steady breathing until he eventually followed her into slumber.
Tomorrow would be a week since he came across her at the bottom of the mountain. He had no idea at the time a broken down motorcyclist would, or even could, quickly become a habit. One, he had a feeling, that would be hard to break when the time came.
Fuck that, it was more than a feeling, he knew it would.
But she had places to go and things to see. Manning Grove had only been an unexpected stop along the way.
It would fucking suck when they said goodbye but he would deal with it the same as anything else.
People came, people went.
Life went on.
But while she was here, while he was in her bed, he would enjoy every fucking second.
He would enjoy her weight pressed into the palms planted on his chest while she used her arms to leverage herself. The warm, wet cocoon of her pussy squeezing his dick. Her mouth brushing over his. Her encouraging whispers in his ear. Her unrestrained cries when she came.
His name on her lips.
Her companionship when they watched TV in the dark late at night, or ate dinner together. Laughed at a stupid joke. Or shared a story about when they were younger.
But, yeah, soon she’d be on her way again.
She wasn’t for him.
Or more like it, he wasn’t for her.
A simple mechanic with only a high school diploma, who belonged to a motorcycle club that occasionally did very questionable things. Things she would not want to be involved with.
Like blowing up a fucking mountain. Or taking people out, even when it was to protect their own.
Or “kidnapping” children for their own good.
Fallon was smart, successful, classy and had done so much already in her thirty-six years that she could now afford to quit the rat race every adult was expected to take part in.
Of course, she hadn’t told him how much money she had in her portfolio. She checked her investment accounts and did any trades during the day while he was at the garage, but he could assume the amount of scratch she had was substantial.
The woman was not financially hurting. While his sorry ass lived in a fucking small box in a bunkhouse.
On one hand, he didn’t wish her life to be any different, because he wouldn’t want to take away any of her accomplishments. On the other, he selfishly did so he wasn’t so fucking far out of her league.
He’d been with Billie for months and hadn’t felt anything toward her like he already did with Fallon in only a few days.
At that thought, his chest tightened and his heart began to thump heavily.
