Another sound came from the back of Rev’s throat. Rook narrowed his eyes on his club brother and fellow mechanic. He sidled up closer to the pool table, where Rev still perched, and muttered under his breath, “You got a problem with Reilly stayin’ with Reese?”

Rev kept his eyes on Trip to avoid Rook’s. “No.”

“Good. The only one who should have a problem with it is Reese or Deacon. You ain’t on that short list.”

Rev’s mouth pulled tight. “Safer for her to stick close.”

“Safer for her to be with Reese when she ain’t with us at the garage. ‘Specially if Deke leaves Justice with them.”

Rev’s only response was a flare of his nostrils. Seeing that meant Rook would be keeping a closer eye on Rev and Reilly. He’d also mention something to Cage, too.

He wouldn’t bother mentioning that possible problem with Dutch because his old man wouldn’t give a shit if anybody and everybody was boning Reilly. Hell, if he could bone Reilly without Reese stun-gunning him in the nuts, he’d probably try.

“All right. The club’s officers are gonna go upstairs and put together a plan. Once we got that done, we’ll share it with the rest of you. Shade, E and Rook, you got your orders. Everyone else, keep your eyes and ears open. Let’s not overdo the beer, whiskey or weed right now. Need everyone alert. Also want the three new recruits to continue takin’ turns watchin’ the mountain and reportin’ back with anythin’ worth reportin’. Let’s keep communication lines open and be ready to move quickly when necessary.”

“Keep a close eye on the women and children, too,” Judge added. “We all need to do that. Don’t just keep an eye on the kids that came from your nuts. My kids are your kids. Your kids are mine. The Fury kids belong to all of us. Let’s remember that.”

Another murmur of agreement moved through the group of men.

Trip clapped his hands together once and said, “All right, that’s it for now.”

As everyone started to disperse, he stopped them by yelling out, “Hang on.” Trip waited until everyone was looking his way to say, “Know the motto the Originals used was utter shit, but it was what they had. We took the spilled blood and those broken bones, rose from the ashes and built a new and stronger brotherhood. Our brotherhood keeps rising, getting tighter and stronger to the point where it’ll soon be unbreakable.” He glanced toward Cage. “When those motherfuckers took Dyna, I heard Cage mutter somethin’ on the mountain, and it’s stuck with me ever since. I want it to be ours. Something new like us. Yes, we live and die for our brothers and will continue to do so, but right now, Cage’s words are a fuck of a lot more fittin’…”

Rook glanced at his brother as he gave Trip a chin lift. The prez returned it.

Trip then yelled, “Hell hath no fury like…” He raised both of his arms over his shoulders in encouragement.

“The Blood Fury!” came the deafening shout from everyone in church.

“Hell’s about to rain down on those hillbilly goat fuckers!” Sig yelled.

“Fittin’ as fuck,” Rook muttered.

The executive committee went upstairs for their meeting, everyone else wandered off to do what they needed to do, and Shade and Easy came up to him. They headed out to the hiding spot where they’d stored the Shirley guns and ammo.

Hopefully, between the three of them, by the time they returned they’d figure out a secure spot on the farm where to store them.

Rook had a feeling they would need that stash. And soon.

After dropping both him and Easy back at The Barn, Rook watched Shade pull away in the black van to return to town and his family.

“Let’s go, asshole,” he called to Cujo, who had just marked fifteen spots in the beaten-down snow. Rook didn’t think there was any more piss left in the dog’s three-pound body to make it worth lifting his leg a sixteenth time.

Even so, if the Chihuahua thought either Justice or Jury had pissed anywhere close by, he needed to show his over-inflated dominance by marking over top of it.

Cujo gave a high-pitched yap and a sneeze that almost launched his whole tiny body into the air before tearing past Rook through the door and into church.

While the little shit was getting better around the guys, he still wouldn’t let anyone pick him up except for…

Fuck. Except for Jet.

The person he’d steered clear of since he abruptly left her bed a couple of weeks ago. He hadn’t seen her in town. She hadn’t shown up at the garage. He hadn’t used the key.

What he had used was his fist—a lot—along with a latex pocket pussy he kept hidden at the bottom of his sock drawer. They both got way more of a workout than they should’ve when he had sweet butts available to take care of his needs. All he had to do was text one, if they already weren’t on the property.
