Was I wrong about Jacob this whole time? Maybe he's not as bad or as heartless as I thought him to be. I saw a whole new side of him tonight, and it's the side that I very much like. My eyes fall shut, and I see him right before me. He's smiling, blue eyes shining in the dim moonlight. His calloused fingers were rough against the skin on my cheek, and I can only imagine how good it would feel if he were to run those fingers over other parts of my body.
It sends a rush through me and I curl my legs up, feeling heat gathering between them. I gently sigh, unable to keep my mind from wandering. There's definitely more to Jacob than meets the eye and right now I'm really wanting to find out exactly what that is. I replay our last moment in my mind, remembering all too well the way my heart swelled in my chest and butterflies flapped in my stomach. It's been a while since I felt anything but disdain towards a man, and possibly even longer since one has gotten me all wound up.
I slip one hand under the blanket, bunching up my dress and moving between my legs. As soon as my fingers sweep over my clit, my mouth falls open and I gasp. I move my fingers in a small circle, rubbing myself through the fabric of my underwear. Heat quickly builds, and my body begs me for release. I move my fingers a little faster, mind flitting to Jacob once more. This time, I imagine his rough hands sweeping down my body as he pushes me forward, pinning me against the side of the house. His lips meet mine, right as he parts my legs, daft fingers finding me wet already. I'm so close to coming. I bend a leg up, arching my back as pleasure winds deep inside of me.
But then one of the dogs barks, jumping up and pawning the front door. It startles me, bringing me out of my reverie.
“Damn it,” I mutter, eyes flying open. A dog yips from outside the door, and I recognize the bark as Riley’s. I heave out an exasperated sigh, throw the blanket off, and get up, straightening out my dress as I walk to the door to let the dogs in.
I open the door, shaking my head at myself. I spent thirty minutes tonight not hating Jacob Harris and I'm ready to imagine him fucking me. “I just need to go to bed,” I say out loud to both dogs and lock the front door. Tinkerbell, who's sitting on the stairs, growls at Gunther and the dog takes off after her. I obviously did not think this through.
Twenty minutes later, I've got both cats in the bedroom with me. It was quite the challenge chasing them around the house, trying to get both into my room. Mr. Meowster was easy to pick up and plop on my bed but as soon as I opened the door to let Tinkerbell in with him, he took off, which resulted in a frantic run through the house being chased by Gunther. Riley, who leaves the cats alone, chased after his friend which made the whole thing a big shitshow.
I settle down under the covers, wishing I brought my vibrator with me. As much of an over-packer as I am, I didn't think I would need it for the week or so I planned to be here. A quick one-on-one session ending in at least one orgasm would do me some good. As long as my mind didn't go to Jacob Harris again.
I set my alarm for fifteen minutes later than usual since I don't have to get up and see Everly off to school. Both cats curl up at the foot of my bed and I try to get comfortable. I roll over and I swear I get a whiff of Jacob’s cologne. Huffing, I roll over to my other side and look out the window. Usually, I try to clear my mind at night, not letting my thoughts get away from me as I make mental to-do lists of everything that I didn't get done the day before. And, usually, that stresses me out to the point where I am unable to sleep. But tonight, I welcome it as a distraction, because I'd rather think about anything but Jacob fucking Harris.
After two hours of tossing and turning, I give up and get out of bed. Shutting my door behind me, I go downstairs and finally make myself the cup of tea I started before Poppy called. I pace around the house as I wait for the water to warm up, stopping inside the screened-in porch. I look out at the barn as I wonder if I’ll be able to squeeze in a nap at some point tomorrow.
