As cool as could be, Jamison ignored that threat and returned his attention to his brother. “Z, we didn’t come here for a pissing match. We came to discuss an issue that will affect us all, including our families, if we don’t do anything about it. We’re only asking for cooperation, that’s it.”

An explosion of “Bullshit!” shook the air in the room.

Fletch mentally flagged Diesel as someone to watch out for if he ended up wearing the Angels’ colors. The man was making Fletch’s spine tighten to the point it ached.

It would only take a split second and one wrong move or word for shit to go sideways.

The DAMC president turned toward his sergeant at arms and, with a calmness no one else in that room was feeling, ordered, “Sit down. Let’s hear ‘em out ‘fore we kick their asses out.”

Diesel’s thick fingers curled into fists. “Don’t need to hear fuckin’ shit about fuck from these pigs.”

“Kinda agreein’ with my asshole brother for once, Z,” Hawk spoke up. “They ain’t here to do us any fuckin’ favors.” The Dirty Angels’ VP leaned back in his chair and pursed his lips, his dark gaze running over their small group still standing because they weren’t invited to take a seat. On purpose. “We got somethin’ they want.”

“Then that means we hold the power.” Zak turned back to their group and jerked his chin up. “Start talkin’.”

Jamison took a step back. “I’ll hand it over to Colin Crew. He’s a DEA senior special agent and heading this task force.”

“Fuckin’ task force,” Diesel repeated as if trying to spit out a lemon seed.

Crew stepped up to the end of the table. He addressed Zak only and ignored the other two since the president was the most important person at that table. Fletch hoped he was also the most reasonable.

“Like your brother told you, the name’s Crew. How do you want to be addressed?”

“Mr. President.”

Fletch turned away to hide his amusement and Crew dropped his head and shook it.

When he was composed again, Crew lifted his head again. “That’s not going to happen. Try again.”

“My house, my rules,” Zak said with a casual shrug.

“Z…” Jamison started, ready to step in again.

Fletch caught the slightest twitch in the man’s lips. “That’ll work, too. But get talkin’. I got shit to do.”

Yeah, the men at the table would keep trying to play with Fletch and his brothers. Annoy them to the point it got them riled up and on the defensive. It would either give them an excuse to cause a conflict or kick them out.

They had all discussed about keeping their settings on cool and not allowing the DAMC to spin their dials to hot.

Being a redhead, Finn tended to pop off the quickest. But so far, he was behaving himself.

Fletch risked a quick glance at him. Oh yeah, the man was struggling to hold onto his composure. Maybe they should’ve brought someone else along with them instead.

“We’re not here to waste your time,” Crew assured them. “We appreciate you giving us a chance to hear us out. But like your brother said, what the Demons are doing—”

“Demons!” burst loudly from Diesel.

“Yeah, the Deadly Demons.”

“Know who the fuck they are, pig. That’s why you’re here? ‘Cause of that fuckin’ bunch of rejects on two wheels?” His head twisted toward his president. “Why wasn’t I told this shit before now?”

“‘Cause I didn’t know the details. An’ if you’d shut the fuck up an’ let the man talk, we’d find out those details.”

Damn.

No wonder the man had been president as long as he had. Not only did he remain cool, calm and collected, he didn’t take any shit. It was probably the same reason why Axel made an excellent president for the BAMC. Their temperaments were the same.

They must have inherited that from their mother because their father and former BAMC president, Mitch Jamison, had never been that level-headed.

Chapter Seven

Crew remained focused on Zak, even though what he said next addressed Diesel’s opinion. “You might think they’re a bunch of rejects just trying to stir up a little trouble but that’s where you’d be wrong. The shit’s getting much deeper than that. More dangerous, too. They’re doing enough to catch our attention and that’s why we formed this task force.”

“Just to take down the Demons?” the DAMC president asked, then pinned his lips together and seemed to consider Crew’s next words carefully.

“If they were only setting up chapters in both PA and Ohio, we wouldn’t give a shit. That would be your problem until both your clubs made it our problem. However, let me first focus on the territory grab they’re doing on the down low because that’s the part your club will be concerned about more than the issue we are concentrating on. What I’m about to tell you are irrefutable facts since we’ve heard the chatter and witnessed their movements.
