And none of them had given up on finding Sadie, either. Not yet.
He and his brothers, along with the help of the task force members, were all still working on trying to get a bead on where Sloane’s sister might be.
Decker feared the worst.
He did not share that fear with Sloane.
He was determined to find her sister, whether breathing or not. He hoped for the first and not the latter, but his hope was quickly fading.
However, tonight was supposed to be a celebration in which everyone forgot their problems. At least temporarily.
Tomorrow morning would come soon enough, thrusting them all back into reality.
Sadie. The Deadly Demons. And even La Cosa Nostra.
He glanced over at Nox sitting at the kitchen counter not really talking to anyone.
Holidays were still difficult for him.
Decker had no doubt that the man would slip away to his apartment upstairs when no one was paying attention.
If the man wanted to be left alone, they needed to give him that space.
But still… they all worried about his slow rise from the darkness that kept pulling at him. Being stuck inside during the winter, along with long hours of darkness coupled with the cold temps, didn’t help with anyone’s depression.
The second warmer weather hit, Finn would need to schedule a club run. Decker was sure all of them could use the sun and wind in their face, along with the rumble and power of their Harleys between their legs.
It was a perfect way to clear the mind.
Decker grabbed Sloane by the waist and pulled her against him, hugging her close and murmuring in her ear, “I wish it was warm enough to take you for a ride on my bike.”
“I would love that. I've never ridden on one before.” She circled her arms around his neck and shrugged. She checked to make sure they were now alone before whispering, “Until spring comes, I’ll just have to ride your cock instead.”
He couldn’t argue that. “Not a hardship.”
“Not for you.”
“But seriously, I can’t wait for the day I get you on the back of my Harley. I think you’ll love the club runs, too.”
“That sounds a lot like the future, Corporal Decker.” She tugged on his shirt, went up on her toes and planted a quick kiss on his lips.
“You’re damn right it does. And that future looks bright with you in it.”
“So bright,” she began in a sing-song voice, “you’re gonna need shades…”
He groaned at that, leaned down and, pressing his lips against hers, said, “Good thing I have a pair or two.”
“I can confirm you definitely have a pair,” she teased, bumping her pelvis against him.
Then she took his mouth and swallowed his chuckle.
When she finally released him, she asked, “Should we check on your daughter?”
He gave her a single nod. “Yes, we should check on our daughter.”
After Sloane slapped her hand in his, they went to see what their Valee Girl received from her Secret Santa.
It might be lame, but at least it wasn’t a puppy.
