I can’t last another second. I pull out just in time to unload.
“Uh!” I blast, shoving my hips up. “Uh!” Another blast. She wraps her hand around me and begins to jerk. “UHHHHHH!” A long rope hits her, and I fall onto the bed, lying down as I catch my breath.
Shit that was amazing.
“Are you hungry or anything?” I close my eyes, sated.
“No,” she exhales. “I ate with Ren.”
“Right! So how was seeing her?” I open my eyes.
“Good!” She turns over to face me. “It was a lot of fun.”
“I’m glad,” I brush her cheek. “Do you want to get out of here and go back to my place?”
“What about your bachelor party?” A frown line forms on her pretty face.
“They’re all wasted anyway,” I shake my head. “I haven’t had a drink in hours, and I want you in my bed.”
“Well how can I say no to that?” She smiles.
We don’t get back to my place until almost 4am on Saturday morning, and we literally spend the entire day in bed.
It was officially my most favorite day ever, and on Sunday, Luci and I head to her favorite diner for brunch.
She adjusts the heat in my car, and just as I stop at a red light, we both turn to one another at exactly the same time.
“Why do all these girls keep calling you?”
“Why haven’t you said anything to your parents about us?”
We laugh.
“I haven’t told them,” she answers first, “because I feel foolish, because it’s obvious how much I love you, and I don’t think they’ll understand. They won’t see past who you were.”
“I don’t know why they keep calling me,” I answer, “but I swear I don’t pick up, or call them back, and if it bothers you I can change my number.”
She offers a small smile, and I sigh loudly.
“Do you remember the day you first walked into my classroom?”
“How can I forget?” She gives me a look.
“I’ve always talked about how wrong it felt for wanting you, but that was only part of it,” I pause. “You took my breath away. I looked into your eyes and they saw me, as if you knew.” I sigh loudly. “From that moment on, my heart beat for you.”
“Josh,” she sighs, grabbing my hand.
“My point is, if they don’t understand right away, it will be easy for us to prove it to them over time.”
“Maybe brunch is a bad idea,” she giggles as the light changes.
“Why?”
“I liked being in bed with you all weekend,” she shrugs.
I pull into the restaurant parking lot, getting out of the car and running to her side quickly. I grab the door just as her feet hit the ground. “I think,” I graze her cheek with the back of my hand. “This was one of my most favorite weekends ever.”
“Because of the strippers?” She jokes.
“There was one show that stood out alright,” I laugh.
She smiles, licking her lips. “I think,” her eyes lights up. “I want to go to France with you for your sister’s wedding, if it’s not too late.”
“I think I can definitely arrange for that to happen.”
“I will pay you back,” she confirms.
“We’ll worry about the details later,” I kiss her, and despite the freezing air swirling around us, our mouths keep us warm.
“Let’s discuss over brunch,” she mumbles, and I nod my agreement without ever leaving her lips.
“Luci?”
The voice causes her eyes to widen, and she immediately breaks away from me.
“Mom!” She wipes her lips.
“Mrs. Cunningham,” I hold out my hand, spotting Gracie just behind her looking horrified.
“Mom,” Luci repeats, clearing her throat. “You remember-”
“Your teacher?” Her Mom spits harshly.
“He’s not my teacher anymore,” She croaks. “He hasn’t been for years.”
“Is this where you’ve been spending all your time?” She demands, shooting Gracie a dirty look. “And you’ve known too?”
“I can explain,” Luci pleads.
“Home. Now.”
Luci offers me a pleading look. “Go,” I nod.
She looks back towards her Mom, deciding.
“Go,” I whisper.
“Ugh,” she looks between us again. “I’ll be right there.”
“Be quick,” her Mom spits before storming towards her car.
Gracie’s still standing there, shaking her head.
“I was texting you all morning, and you probably have a million missed calls from Mom. The principal called the house this morning to ask how I’m doing in light of the rumors surrounding my sister.”
“Fuck,” Luci whispers.
“And seriously,” she stares angrily at me. “What are you two thinking going someplace local like this? For two of the smartest people I know, you’re really dumb-”
“Gracie! Luci!” Her Mom shouts.
“Go!” I tell her.
“I’m really sorry,” she kicks her feet. “She’ll come around.”
“It’s okay,” I rub my neck, trying not get upset, but how could she not have told her parents?
She still doesn’t move, and her expression is slowly killings me.
“I’m sure it’s not easy for them,” I sigh. “I was your teacher.”
“Yeah, but-”
“Luci, the thing is, everything that’s running through your Mom’s head right now is worst case scenario,” I can’t help my cold look. “And you have to remember, no matter what you end up telling her - lies or not - everything she most likely fears is true. It happened.”
