When my sassy little hot stuff leans up and bites my neck, my world becomes instantly complete. Sparks erupt around us as our orgasms blend together and expand.

The room fades into darkness around us as our life forces intertwine. The next thing I know, I’m lying on my back with my mate curled up against my side. I breathe in her sweet scent, letting it fill my lungs as a wave of contentment washes over me. My inner bear finally settles down, allowing us to lie quietly together in this peaceful moment.

I wake up to the insistent buzzing of my phone against the wooden bedside table, the non-stop hum pulling me from a particularly pleasant dream featuring Gianna’s lips wrapped snugly around my cock.

Rolling over carefully, I try to avoid rousing Gianna. She nestled in next to me, her peaceful face framed by tousled blonde hair and all perfectly mine. Her steady breathing continues its soothing rhythm.

As the phone vibrates again, Gianna grumbles quietly, and I allow myself a moment to admire the cute little frown creasing the center of her brows before she squishes further into the pillow. I chuckle softly, silencing the device with a flick, cautiously slipping from beneath the blankets.

In the living room, now shielded from sleepy bear obstacles, I check the screen and groan inwardly, realizing it’s Dillon Bearly, the perpetual meddler. I steel myself for whatever brotherly wisdom, threats, or potentially entertaining gibberish he’s about to deliver.

I answer the call with a resigned but amused half-grin. "This had better be life or death, asshole. The sun isn’t even up yet," I say, letting my voice carry just the right balance of humor and warning.

“The early bird gets the worm,” he counters playfully, but there's that brotherly protectiveness creaking through the line, too. “And it’ll be your death if you do my sister wrong,”

Despite myself, I’m smiling. The Bearly family is slowly becoming my family, and I can’t resist the urge to fuck with him. “You know,” I reassure him, leaning back against the comfort of my couch to go in for the kill shot, “we mated last night, and boy was it ho-o-o-t. My co—”

“Ick.” He makes a gagging sound. “My ears are bleeding. I don’t want to hear about my little sister’s love life.” I hear grumbling on the other end of the line and smile at my triumph.

“If you don’t want all the unmentionable details, don’t call so ungodly early.” I don’t regret it at all. I need to set a precedent with these Bearly men from the beginning.

Suddenly, another voice comes over the line and I realize it’s his wife, Emilia. “I do want all the juicy details.”

“You’ll have to call Gianna later once she wakes up to get them,” I laugh and tell her.

“Tell her to call me when she gets up.”

“Will do,” I manage to respond before Dillon’s voice comes back over the line.

“Remember my warning.”

I roll my eyes. “I’m not going to hurt her. I love her more than my own life.”

There's a broad grin in Dillon’s voice now, the mood shifting gears effortlessly. “Good. When do you want us to come over and help move her stuff to your place?”

It takes a solid second for me to understand the leap. “How did you go from 'don't hurt my sister' to 'let's pack her bags' in one breath?” I ask, bemused by the mental gymnastics worthy of such a family.

“The Bearly family takes mating seriously, Sawyer,” he states matter-of-factly, and I can nearly see his authoritative nod through the call. “And we don’t let grass grow under our feet.”

I chuckle, my mind fluttering back to Gianna asleep in my bed, and I suddenly want to get off this call and return to my mate. “I’ll talk to Gianna and get back to you.”

“Don’t take too long or we’ll just show up with all her stuff.” I hang up after his warning and drop my phone onto the kitchen counter to head back to my girl.

As I slip back under the light covers and pull her into my arms, Gianna sighs my name in her sleepy voice, sending all the blood in my body straight to my cock. When she snuggles close and places her nose against my chest, I feel sleep pulling me under. What could a few more minutes of hibernation hurt?

Chapter 7

Gianna

I wake up slowly, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains and casting a gentle early glow across the room. The warmth of the sun wraps around me like a comforting blanket, but it’s not the light that’s making me feel all warm and fuzzy—it’s Sawyer, curled up behind me, his warm breath fluttering across my shoulder. He’s so close I can feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat and the insistent hardness of his cock pressed tightly against my rear end. For a second, I let myself savor this perfect moment.
