“I’m not sure I like that rule.” His pout returned as he sat up and settled back against the cushion. “I’m voting that all punishments must be hot and sexy.” “That wasn’t hot and sexy?” I demanded, mock offense in my voice. “Tough crowd, man.” I leaned my head against his shoulder. “You can just ask to be spanked, Adri,” I murmured against his neck. “Can’t have you trying to misbehave all the time to feel my hand on your ass.”

“Misbehaving might be fun though. I haven’t tried it before.” He smiled and pulled me close. “You’d love me even if I was a brat.”

It would be good to see him let go and misbehave, just for a little while. If I got to be there to see it, to be a part of it… It was hot as hell.

“Good thing, since you are a brat,” I retorted. “I’ll have to make sure I get creative with my punishments. You need to have the full experience.” “I want the full experience with you… I want everything with you.” He gave me a tender kiss then pulled me down to rest against his chest. “You ready to watch a movie with me, baby brother?”

“Oh, fuck. It’s gonna be a Disney movie, isn’t it?” I asked. I cuddled against him anyway. I wanted to be his master, but I wanted to be close, too… I wanted to feel wanted, needed…

I felt vulnerable, and I didn’t even know how to handle it. I only knew that it was clawing at me. Adrian’s arms tightened around me. “Kind of.” He pressed a kiss to my cheek. “I like this. Holding you, spending time with you.” Then he got a little smirk on his lips. “Even if you hate the movie I picked out.”

“Which is?”

He grinned widely, and his eyes lit up in anticipation. He let the excitement build for a moment, drawing out his answer before it finally popped out. “Goonies!” I eyed him. “I hear that movie is totally ruined when you’re an adult,” I said. “So I reserve the right to give running commentary.” Adrian laughed. “That’s not a surprise or a threat. You’ve been doing that since you were a kid. I remember the first time Mom made you sit through Snow White. She loved that movie, but you kept asking questions and criticizing it the whole time.”

I gave him a look. “She was a virgin princess doing slave labor for a bunch of old men. Mom had been pretty fucking clear that you don’t take candy from strangers.” Before Adrian could interrupt, I barreled on, “And yes, apples count.”

Adrian laughed and leaned in to give me a kiss. “You’re hilarious. Sometimes. But it was a fairy tale, baby.” Baby. It caught me off guard, but I couldn’t help but grin — dopily, even. I grinned but kept the joke to myself.

“It’s for kids. What kind of an example was that? And come on, all those guys living together, and they thought it was okay to put a teenage girl in there? Those are called pornos these days. I can keep going if you want me to.”

Smiling, Adrian shook his head. “That’s okay, thanks. That’s why we’re not watching a regular Disney movie, though, or Star Wars, or Indiana Jones.” He grinned. “Should I keep going?”

“You could, just so I can watch your lips move.” I smirked at him, resting my head against his shoulder. “Put the damn movie on, big brother.”

Chapter 17 Adrian

Stretched out on the couch with my arms wrapped around Owen, I didn’t have any desire to move. Despite his warnings about bitching, he’d been quiet, curling up against me and relaxing. Now, though, he was insistent that we get up and function.

“I’ll let you pick the next movie. I don’t want to get up. Functioning means homework.” Making a face, I didn’t try to hide how terrible that sounded. I was comfortable and snuggled in Owen’s arms. I didn’t want to move.

“Good thing you like being ordered around,” Owen replied cheerfully. “Because I’m ordering you to get up so we can get something done. Pick something, anything, but I want this place feeling like a home aga—”

He abruptly stopped talking. I turned my head and softly kissed him. “I want a home again too. It’s been so lonely here and so… sad. I don’t want that anymore.” Taking a breath, I tried to figure out what would make it feel like our home instead of just a house.

“How about we clean out their room? Get the rest of their stuff packed up and organized.” Maybe if we didn’t have our parents’ presence looming over us, we could finally put the past to rest.

We’d made pretty good progress last time, but it was more than I’d been ready for before. Between everything I was figuring out about myself and how I was starting to see Owen, cleaning out their room had just been the last straw.
