“Do you? Get naked?”

“Not unless you’re gonna get naked with me,” I said, watching as she flushed, her gaze moving away.

She still had some of that shyness going for her.

But this was the woman who stood in that mirror, begging for my cock, the one who pulled the blankets down, and welcomed me onto her bare chest.

She’d get more comfortable with me outside of intimate moments given enough time.

And I planned to give her that.

Time.

As much as she needed to get as into me as I found I was into her.

It was new to me.

I’d always enjoyed women.

But it had been in a much more superficial way than I’d even realized at the time. Mostly, it was about their attraction to me. Their interest in me. Not necessarily my interest in them. Sure, yeah, there’d been a sexual interest. I was human. But that was all it was.

I was pretty sure this was the first time in my life when I was just as interested in who a woman was as I was in sleeping with her, or how much attention I could get from her.

I couldn’t say what was different. Maybe there was no way to rationalize it. Sometimes, you just… stumbled upon the right person.

It really had been fate, the more I thought about it.

If I’d changed my number, so Sion couldn’t have contacted me. If I’d ignored his invitation. If I had been busy that day. If I’d turned around halfway to the hotel like I almost did. If I hadn’t messaged her. If I hadn’t heard the gunshots. If Sion hadn’t given me her address…

If any of those factors had been different, I never would have met Siana.

“So… would shorts and a tee be appropriate? Or should I put on a sundress?” she asked.

“Shorts are fine. Though, I wouldn’t mind the dress, personally,” I told her. At her scrunched brows, I shrugged as I raised my mug to my lips. “Easy access,” I told her.

“You’re ridiculous,” she said, but there was a smile on her lips as she turned. “What time should we be there?”

“Depends.”

“On?”

“If you want to go for dinner, or just eat whatever party foods Eddie is making.”

“Is that really a question?” she asked. “But… if we go earlier, we have to leave earlier to be back for Frida,” she said.

I figured she wouldn’t want to stay long, anyway.

Yeah, I wanted her to experience a party for the first time. But I wasn’t delusional enough to think it would actually be her scene. At least not at first. She’d have to build up a tolerance to that sort of crazy after such a calm, quiet, solitary life.

“That’s fine. Rather be here with you anyway,” I told her. “Alright. I’m gonna go hit the store. What’re your plans?”

“I’m going to take Frida for a long walk before it gets too hot. Then shower and fret about my clothes and makeup for approximately six hours,” she told me, giving me a self-deprecating smile.

“Sounds like a blast,” I said, pressing a kiss to her temple as I passed on my way to put my mug in the sink. “Anything else you think we’re forgetting?” I asked, checking the list we’d compiled on my phone.

More supplies to get the house shaped up. Siana had a personal vendetta against the ceiling fan in the living room. And had some good thoughts on a different style of moulding for throughout the house.

“I think you got… oh, don’t forget more of the wood stir stick things,” she said. “We forgot to wipe them off. They’re all caked on now.”

“Stir sticks,” I repeated, adding it to my list. “Want me to grab lunch on the way back?”

“I would offer to actually make lunch today, but it would get in the way of my obsessive worrying about the party,” she said, laughing at herself.

“You’re gonna do fucking amazing,” I assured her. “But I know that’s not gonna make a difference, so I’ll leave you to your anxiety walk,” I told her before making my way out.

When I got back a couple hours later with everything on the list, as well as everything I would need to put up a passably strong fence for Frida, I found Siana in the kitchen.

On her hands and knees.

Scrubbing the floor.

In those goddamn short pajama shorts that rode up enough to display a scandalous amount of ass cheek.

By the time I even set the bags down, I could feel my cock stiffening.

“I stress clean,” she told me, looking back over her shoulder at me.

“Yeah?” I asked, gaze moving down her back again. “Don’t let me stop you,” I said, glancing back to see where Frida was, if she was going to get in the way of my intentions. But she was going to town on one of the big bones Siana tossed to her when she needed a little peace and quiet.
