Plus, our life has settled into a nice routine. Sanford spends most of his days at a media firm that he founded after leaving professional wrestling. It’s called Cooper Mansard LLP, and I think they do an array of things, including brand-building, recruitment, and talent management for a number of sports and entertainment-types. It makes sense because my man has plenty of experience in those areas.
Meanwhile, I’m living my days as a lady of leisure and it isn’t bad, to be honest. I’ve always prided myself on being a woman who works for her money, but it’s nice being taken care of too. I spend my days strolling in Central Park, shopping with the credit card Sanford gave me, and going to the occasional movie. Of course, I haven’t been on any dates through Curves since moving in with this man. It would be unseemly, not to mention utterly gross.
But at the moment, Sanford’s decked out in an apron decorated with sunflowers as he scurries about the kitchen. I almost laugh because my man is huge, and the apron looks more like a bib than an apron on his enormous frame. But he hears my muffled giggles and gives me a quick kiss as he sets our plates down to join me at the counter.
“You know I was able to feel you staring at my ass while I made breakfast,” he growls.
I pause with a forkful of veggie omelet halfway to my mouth and blow him a kiss.
“Yeah, but you know you like it, and that’s why you keep wearing those pants that squeeze your butt. Besides, you’ve got me waking up early to work out every morning. So your ass in those pants is like my reward.”
He eyes me with a knowing smirk.
“You adore this ass, and I don’t remember hearing you complain about our workout this morning when I had you bent over the weight bench.”
Heat fills my cheeks, and I merely giggle before jiggling my rack at him. Immediately, his eyes zoom on my prominent nips and I titter again.
“Yep. That was your reward for a thorough workout, just like staring at your crotch is my reward.”
Sanford bursts out laughing, his deep chuckles filling the kitchen.
“It’s never a dull moment with you, sweetheart.”
I grin obnoxiously.
“And you love it.”
“I do,” he acknowledges before lifting my hand and pressing a tender kiss to my wrist. “I really do.”
A trillion tingles sound off through my body at the intimate gesture because this relationship is feeling more and more real. Sanford takes care of me like a husband does his wife, and he wants me to be happy. Look how he cooked me breakfast today! My happiness is of paramount importance to him, and again, my body fills with pleasure. This man is mine, and in my heart of hearts, I’m hoping I’ll hear three key words from him very soon.
But after about twenty more minutes of flirtatious conversation and excellent food, Sanford takes off his apron and stands, rising to his full height. He’s so tall that that black head almost brushes the ceiling, and I’m astonished by how gorgeous this man is.
“Well, as much as I hate to leave you, I need to get to work.”
I poke my bottom lip out in a sassy pout.
“I thought the purpose of owning your own company was so you could go into the office whenever you want.”
He laughs before bending down to give me a soft kiss.
“Baby, if I gave into my deepest desires, I’d never leave this penthouse and then where would we be?”
“We’d be happy!” I say pertly. “And I’d be so sore.”
Heat fills me as I clutch my man’s tie, pulling him in for another kiss. This time it’s not soft, and we’re both panting as he pulls away, those blue eyes on fire. His irises are that almost-black color they become when we’re making love and my whole body flushes. I’ll never get tired of Sanford looking at me like that.
“I’ll make sure I’m out of there early today,” he growls, straightening his tie once more. “Just be ready to finish what you just started when I get home.”
“Oh, I’ll be ready, big boy,” I coo.
“Good,” he rasps. Then with one last hard kiss, he’s out the door as I swoon. How did I get so lucky meeting a man like this? Especially given my chosen profession.
But after I finish my eggs, a sigh escapes my mouth because today isn’t going to be my regular day of leisure. Instead, I’ve got to go to the doctor and it’s my least favorite doctor too—the gynecologist. Ugh. I hate being poked and prodded, but I especially hate it in my most private spots.
Heaving another sigh, I get up and put my dish in the sink before retreating to the bedroom to get ready. Hopefully this will be over before I know it, and then I’ll be able to get back to my regular, blissful life.
