Alexei was stretched out, wearing the tiniest black Speedo he’d ever seen in his life while acres of perfect skin were displayed under the golden sunlight. One leg hung over the side of the hammock and his toes dragged through the water. Fish lazily drifted under him, creating a perfect tableau of grace and flawless beauty. There were moments when he was simply in awe of Alexei and even more taken aback that such an amazing creature loved him.

The wooden deck creaked under his feet and Alexei slowly looked up, smiling at him.

“Have a nice nap?”

“Very. Did you go for a swim?” Soren asked, noting that his hair looked damp.

“Yeah. The water is so warm. I thought I’d dry here and then come look for you. Are you getting hungry?”

“Famished. It’s nearly dinnertime. You wanna order in or head up to the restaurant?” Since arriving at the hotel, they’d had nearly every meal brought to their private suite so they could drown in each other’s presence. No distractions. No intrusions.

“I was thinking we might try the restaurant tonight. The desk clerk mentioned something about a nightly show.”

“Sounds good. I’ll just hop in the shower quickly and find some real clothes.” He started to step away when a wolfish grin spread across Alexei’s lips.

“I’ll join you.”

“No,” Soren said in the best warning tone he could muster, which really wasn’t all that great. They’d discovered that the shower was more than big enough for two. There was also a stone bench in the shower that they’d put to good use multiple times. “We’ll be too late for dinner and have to order in again. I need two minutes.”

Soren darted away, plunging into the darkened cabin where he jerked open a drawer for something that was clean and covered more of his skin than Speedos and shorts. It would be nice to dress sort of like an adult for a few hours. Pretend they could control themselves for a while before falling into the cabin as they pulled each other’s clothes off.

As he grabbed a clean pair of boxer briefs, he shut the drawer and turned for the bathroom, but a beep stopped him cold. He looked around the room, trying to place the sound. When the beep rose again, he realized it was coming from his cell phone.

That was weird.

He’d told his handler that he wasn’t interested in any new jobs and wouldn’t be until he contacted him. There weren’t many other people who had his private number. Just Alexei and his former team. Well, he suspected Alexei’s uncles knew his number whether he wanted them to or not. All the same, the options were limited.

Very slowly, he edged over to the phone. Those people would only contact him if there was an emergency. He needed to take a quick look. That was it.

A text had rolled in from Charlie.

How busy are you?

Well, that didn’t sound good at all. Soren frowned as he typed out: Incredibly.

He was about to put the phone on the nightstand and head for the shower when he saw the ominous three dots indicating that Charlie was replying. Fuck.

How long would it take you to get unbusy?

Growling, he snagged a picture he’d taken the previous day of Alexei floating on his back in the ocean, his beautiful body stretched out and relaxed. Of course, it didn’t hurt that he was also wearing the tiniest red Speedo ever. Yeah, his man had brought all the colors of the rainbow.

Why the fuck would I want to become unbusy when I have that?

“Hey, now!” Alexei snapped as he entered the cabin. “I thought we agreed no electronics on our vacation.” He flopped onto the bed and turned on his side as he stretched out, one eyebrow raised in mocking question.

“Sorry. Charlie was asking if I was busy. I have a feeling he’s looking to see if I’d want to help on a job.”

“Really? Where at? What job?”

That was way more excitement than he’d been expecting from Alexei, but now that he knew he was interested, Soren had to admit he was a little curious. It also didn’t hurt that he’d had a lot of fun in the field with Alexei as well as his old team.

“I don’t know, but I can ask him.”

Before he could type either question to Charlie, the man had already replied.

Damn. Nice vacation. But Buenos Aires can be fun too.

Gracing Alexei with his best devilish grin, he looked up at the man who was now kneeling in the middle of the bed. “Have you ever been to Buenos Aires?”

“No, but I’ve always wanted to go to Argentina.” He was practically bouncing on the mattress with excitement.

Soren chuckled and texted Charlie:

When do you need us?
