I want to see where she’s going to take us on her own. The silence weighs the room down, causing me to take note of my own breathing. This woman before me is the only one who can get this kind of reaction out of me.

I still can’t comprehend how I thought I’d be able to live without her. She opens the glass case with the stereo system and turns it on. I watch the smile that spreads across her face as she finds the settings with her name on them. Music fills the room and vibrates through me as it sets the mood.

Cee takes my hand again and moves forward to explore more. I grin and squeeze her fingers when she pulls a pair of cuffs from a glass bowl on one of the displays.

She turns her gaze toward me, but she gives nothing away. Turning back to the drawers, she pulls open a few before reaching in one and pulling a blindfold. I lift a brow but show no other reaction.

Cee leads me over to the king-size bed in the center of the room. Once my back is to the side of the bed, she gives me a gentle shove to sit. I comply and watch as she retrieves a condom from the bowl on the bedside table, handing it to me.

I nod, opening the pack and sliding the condom on. As much as I want to feel my wife’s tight sheath around me bare, I know we’re not there yet.

She reaches for my wrist and snaps the cuff into place. However, I’m surprised when she straddles my hips and clicks the other half to her own wrist. Our eyes connect and something shifts in the air. I find my answers right on the surface. I swallow hard against my emotions.

I’m not going anywhere, baby.

I tell her with my eyes. She nods, lifting the blindfold. Yet again, she surprises me. She places the fabric over her own eyes, not mine.

I get this too. Her need to find blind faith in us again. I place my free hand on the small of her back to hold her to me. It’s my silent reassurance that I’m not going anywhere. I’m here for as long as I live.

Cee moves her face to mine, and I capture her lips. We communicate through the passion of our kiss. I swallow her whimpers and she inhales my groans. Reaching between the two of us, she finds my erection and starts to stroke me.

Her hips start to grind in my lap as the song playing sings of telling where love lies. I know where mine lies and it’s with this woman in my arms. Cee lifts and sinks down on me.

I still completely. She tugs our joined hands up and places my palm over her heart, linking our fingers together—her small hand over mine. I may not be able to see her eyes, but I can see the war within her face. The need for me to meet her in all of this.

She starts to move up and down slowly, placing her free hand on my shoulder. My mouth falls open and I flex my fingers over her heart. The connection is so intense my skin prickles and my spine has already started to tingle.

When she starts to roll her hips in between bouncing up and down, it’s nearly my undoing. I still don’t take over. This is about her teaching us both. It’s my lesson to bear if I want to secure our future.

My body quakes as she picks up the pace, but I demand my own restraint. With my free hand, I caress her neck, moving up to her face. She nuzzles her cheek into my palm.

I watch in awe as her features begin to transform. I can see the battle reaching its peak. As if a decision is to be made and I have the deciding factor resting in my grasp.

“I love you,” I say as the words rise within me. “I will always love you.”

He says it just when I need to hear it. My lips part but I don’t have the words to speak. I want to tell him I’m there with him and that I love him, but it’s still not that easy.

Yet, I’m trying to show him. This is a huge step for me. Somewhere deep within, I’ve made a decision. I’m taking a risk no matter if I’m willing to say it or not. I’m placing my bets on my husband.

I lean toward him, and he seizes my lips. I allow him to devour me as I continue to build our connection with my movements. I break the connection, using my nose to guide me to his ear.

When I reach my destination, I pause before I whisper to him. “I need you to show me. Show my heart, not my eyes,” I say.
