I wanted to taste Weston, even if it was just once.

“I have a thing about wanting,” I whispered.

He leaned in. “About trying everything once.”

I nodded.

“Even if you think it might screw up a really good thing?” His tone was more warning than question.

“It might make it even better.” I shifted my weight up onto my knees. “But that’s the thing—you don’t know if you don’t try it once.” My fingers found his shoulders.

“Callie.” His hands bracketed my hips.

I gathered up every ounce of courage in my body and went for it, kissing him softly. It was nothing more than a press of our lips, but it hit me like a shot of tequila on an empty stomach, going straight to my head.

His mouth was so much softer than the rest of him, and the contrast was dizzying. He leaned in, sucking on my bottom lip, and my breath hitched.

A second later, he ripped his head back. “This is a really bad idea.” But his grip tightened on my hips.

“The worst,” I agreed, my hands sliding to his neck and behind, up into his hair.

“Fuck it.” He slanted his mouth over mine and kissed me, his tongue parting my lips and sliding into my mouth like he owned it.

I whimpered and shifted, slipping my knee over his thighs to straddle him. He groaned in reply, kissing me deeper, stroking his tongue along mine as he explored my mouth with a hunger that matched my own. He tasted like wine and something else I couldn’t quite pinpoint. Something addictive, or maybe that was just Weston. This wasn’t the typical, shy kiss of a first date. This was heat and lust. This was combustible. Dangerous.

“Maybe we shouldn’t,” I said, yanking my mouth from his. My chest heaved and my pulse raced as I leaned my forehead against his, struggling to find logic when all my body wanted was more.

I wasn’t a stranger to sex, and I’d had boyfriends since Sutton’s birth, but I’d never felt this kind of clawing, aching demand before. This was the chemistry they talked about in romance novels. This was…maddening.

“We definitely shouldn’t,” Weston agreed against my mouth.

We moved at the same second, our mouths colliding and opening on contact. One of his hands slid into my hair. I sucked his tongue into my mouth, and he hauled me fully against him.

Holy shit, he was hard.

For me.

From just a couple of kisses.

Holding that kind of power over him was intoxicating, and I sank into the kiss with complete abandon, slipping my tongue past his teeth to explore him the way he had me. Over and over, our mouths met, taking and giving in light brushes and deep strokes.

I rolled my hips over him, and it was like he snapped, my world spinning until I was on my back and he was above me, his weight settling between my thighs, pressing against the delicious ache coiling there.

His mouth moved along my jaw. His teeth nipped at the lobe of my ear. I arched my neck, and he took the invitation, setting his lips to my throat. I moaned, arching up for more. He may as well have found a direct map for my turn-ons, because he was flipping every single switch.

“You feel so damn good under me, Calliope.” His hand stroked from the nape of my neck to my waist, his thumb skimming the side of my breast.

Just the way he said my name had me burning.

“Weston.” I took that hand and slid it back to my breast. Every part of me felt hypersensitive, like fingers that had been left too long in the cold and were experiencing the first rush of heat as circulation returned.

“Such a bad idea,” he murmured against my neck as his hand cupped my breast, his thumb stroking over my nipple. This sweater was too thick. I wanted his hands on my skin, his mouth and tongue on me. “But so damned good.”

He brought his mouth back to mine and the kiss exploded. Our entire bodies moved with the strokes of our tongues, our hands exploring, our hips rocking like we were teenagers in the back of a car.

I wanted this man, and I wanted him now.

“Weston,” I said against his mouth.

He lifted his head, and if his kiss hadn’t done the trick, then the way he looked at me would have. There was so much heat in his eyes that I should have combusted. Our breathing was ragged, and I slid my hand down to his chest and grinned. His heart was beating just as erratically as mine was.

“Callie?” His gaze searched mine.

I ran my tongue over my swollen lower lip and his attention shifted there, a little rumble of a groan sliding past his lips.

“I want—”

Footsteps sounded outside the door and the handle turned.

Both our heads jerked that direction, and before I could so much as panic, Weston was off me. Damn, that man was fast.
