Shawn shook his head and smiled. “Nah. But maybe we can go ahead and go to my place now, and…”

Kristin blushed and looked at Hollie. “See, I told you. The sex would probably be out of this world.”

“No, Kristin!” Hollie stated.

Stomping her foot like a child, Kristin looked away. “Fine. Let’s go to your place since I think some candle has to stay lit.”

“Great! I’ll drive,” Shawn said as he took Kristin by the hand and nearly dragged her out of the kitchen.

“Should you go with them?” I asked.

Hollie glanced back at where the couple retreated and shook her head. “No. I don’t think Kristin will do anything. Sarah had a pretty good talk with her about taking advantage of Shawn when he’s under a spell.”

I laughed. “Trust me, Shawn is a guy. If he thought for any moment he could sleep with Kristin, spell or no spell, he’d jump at it.”

Hollie chewed nervously on her lower lip. “Maybe we should go and stay with them until Sarah brings everything for the reversal.”

Nodding, I said, “Let’s go get dressed and get over there.”

Lucas and I had gotten to Shawn’s house right in time. When we walked in, Shawn was attempting to talk Kristin into going to his bedroom. The moment she saw us, she rushed over and hid behind me.

“When is Sarah going to get here?” she asked.

“She’s here,” I said only moments before the bell rang.

Lucas looked at me and said, “I wonder if I’ll ever get used to that.”

I shrugged and winked. “I think it’s kind of fun, keeping you on your toes.”

Kristin sprinted to the door and opened it. “You’re here!” She grabbed Sarah and pulled her into Shawn’s living room.

“What do you need me to do?” Kristin and I both asked.

With a pointed look in my direction, Sarah said, “Since you helped her cast the spell, you’ll help her uncast it. I’ve written everything down, and I’ll be here should you need any help.”

I took the two bags and the paper from Sarah. “Okay. Got it.”

“You’ll need an altar,” Sarah stated.

“I’ve got a card table in the dining room. We can use that.”

“That’s perfect, Shawn!” I said as we all followed him to his formal dining room that had been turned into what I was guessing was the poker room.

After Sarah and I got the table ready, Sarah motioned for Lucas to step back from the table.

“Okay, I’ll read everything, and you do it, Kristin. Shawn, you just sit down there.”

He did as I asked while Kristin put the two bags down on the table.

“First, you’ll need a handful of the bay leaves.”

“Bay leaves,” Kristin said as she took them out of the bag and laid them on the table.

“Next is the Frankincense sticks. A tablespoon of cinnamon powder.”

I paused and let Kristin get the cinnamon powder measured out and in the little bowl we had set on the table.

“Okay,” Sarah continued. “We have the white candle.”

“Got it,” Kristin said as Sarah pointed to it. “We also have a dish and a lighter.”

“Great!” I said. “That’s all we’ll need to get started.”

“Shawn, you need to empty your mind by taking in three deep breaths,” Sarah told him.

I couldn’t help but notice Kristin doing the same thing and tried not to smile.

Before I said anything else, I noticed Kristin pick up the lighter and light the white candle. I looked over my shoulder at Sarah who simply raised both brows.

“White candles symbolize clearing paths and invite protection,” Kristin stated as I stared at her, my mouth dropped open.

“Shawn, you’ll want to put the bay leaves in the middle of the dish.” He did as Kristin asked while I watched in utter shock. When Kristin spoke again, I jumped.

“Bay leaves were used in the middle-ages to protect people from plagues and certain types of spells.”

Slowly walking backward, I stopped where Sarah and Lucas were and whispered, “What is happening?”

Sarah grinned. “She’s finding her magick.”

I spun around. “You mean she’s a witch, and you knew the whole time?”

Putting her finger up to her mouth, Sarah motioned for me to walk back over to the table. “She might need your guidance. Do you feel the spell coming to you?”

It was then that I realized I had no use for the paper in my hand because I somehow knew the spell.

Kristin pointed to the table as she instructed Shawn. “Now you’ll want to sprinkle the cinnamon on top of the leaves.”

He did as she asked while she said, “Cinnamon promotes healing and is used in purification rituals.”

“I knew that!” Lucas said, causing everyone to look at him. He held up his hands. “Sorry.”

“As you add the cinnamon, say after me, ‘In the name of the sun, moon, and sky, I invoke the ancient forces.’”

Shawn repeated Kristin’s words, and I looked down at the paper, already knowing the spell she spoke was right.
